This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Kowa Co., Ltd. ("Kowa", "we") collects, uses, and protects your information when using the Kowa mobile application.
The Kowa app provides multiple features, including internal management tools, purchase-related services, and optional activity tracking functionality.

For the activity tracking feature, and with your explicit consent, the app accesses only step count (Steps) via Android Health Connect using the permission:
android.health.permissions.READ_STEPS
The app does not collect, access, or use any other health or fitness data.

3.1 Core app features
The Kowa app provides multiple functionalities, including:

— User account management
Personal data is used to:
— Provide and maintain these services
— Improve user experience
— Ensure system functionality and security
3.2 Activity tracking feature
The app includes an optional step-based activity tracking feature.
Step data is used only to:
— Display walking activity history
— Calculate derived metrics such as:

Estimated distance
Approximate activity time
— Show basic progress information

All metrics are calculated exclusively from step count.

4. Use of Health Data
The Kowa app uses the READ_STEPS permission from Android Health Connect exclusively for the optional activity tracking feature, and only during active walking sessions initiated by the user.
We commit to:
— Not collecting any other health data (heart rate, speed, etc.)
— Not using health data for advertising
— Not selling health data
— Not sharing health data with third parties
— Storing step data locally on the user's device only
— Not transmitting health data to external servers
Users can revoke access at any time in Android settings.

4.1 Use of Location Data
The Kowa app accesses the device's GPS location exclusively during active walking sessions initiated by the user, as part of the optional activity tracking feature.
Location data is used only to:
— Calculate distance traveled during a walking session
— Estimate step count when hardware step sensors are unavailable
— Maintain session continuity when the app is in the background
We commit to:
— Not storing GPS coordinates on external servers
— Not sharing location data with third parties
— Not using location data for advertising or profiling
— Accessing location only while a walking session is actively running
Users can revoke location permissions at any time in Android settings.

5. Data Sharing
We may share limited information with:
— Service providers (infrastructure, support)
— Legal authorities when required
Health data (step count) and location data are never shared.

6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect user data.

7. Data Retention
— Step data remains only on the user's device
— Location data is not stored beyond the active session
— Account data is retained while the account is active
— Users may request deletion at any time
